Momo is a little girl who has always wanted to have a dog like the Blessed Ones. The dog she had always had her eyes on was the Lhasa Terrier, it was a golden long-haired dog, just the right size for Momo too. The main characters are Momo, Pempa (the dog), her mother, father, and the band of robbers. The main settings are Tibet, Bengal, Lhasa, and Calcutta. The genre of the book is Children's Literature. My score on the novel is 20%, and I would rate this book a 5/5 because it has a lot of adventure and it involves a dog.
The genre of my book is children’s literature. The book Daughter of the Mountains is a fiction book. There are no dragons, elves, fairies or anything else like that. The genre of the book is not fantasy, if it was there would be elves, fairies, dragons, and fantasy things, like witches, goblins, trolls, but there isn’t any of those things. Portals, flying anything, unicorns would be an example of fantasy, but since I don’t have any of those things in my book it is not fantasy.
My favorite character is Momo, she is the main character in the story. She has a lot of determination, she has waited years to get a Lhasa Terrier. She wanted one before she could even remember, she waited roughly nine years to get the dog. When her dog got taken away from her she climbed high and low, far and wide to get her dog back from the band of robbers. She was determined to get her dog back, she didn’t care how far they ran with Pempa all she wanted was pemba back into her arms safe and sound. Momo was only nine and she walked across cities, mountains, and many more things just to get her dog back, because she waited years and years to get the dog then the dog randomly just got taken away. She wouldn’t let that stop her from loving and caring for Pempa.
The setting of the story is her hometown in Tibet, the time period of the book was 1948. She traveled through the Great Trade Routes through the mountains. Tibet is a small city in China’s southeastern part. Momo was mostly along the Great Trade Route and many other towns in China. She went to Bengal, Lhasa, and Calcutta to find Pempa.
I would recommend this book to people who love animals and people who love adventure. This book is all about adventure, that is why I would recommend it to the people who love adventure and heart filled books. I scored that way because it is just a good book and it has a lot of details. The quiz that I have to take has important information so I have to try and figure out those parts and remember them. If you love this type of book, enjoy your reading, I recommend it to you if you like adventure and heartfelt books.
