Little Women


The book I read was Little Women by Louise May Alcott. The book Little Women is a book about 4 sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy. The girls are stuck in the time of the American Civil War and their father is fighting in this war. This book takes place in Concord, Massachusetts in the years 1863-1866. The genre of this book is Coming-of-Age, romance story.

The genre of this book is Coming-of-Age and romance. The reason I know this is because in the book it describes how the girls grow and learn how to be ladies. The Coming-of-Age part is mainly set aside for Jo, the second oldest March sister. Throughout the book, Jo is learning how to be a lady, even though at the end she isn't the most lady-like. The romance part of the story is for all of the other characters because throughout the book there are multiple love stories. That is the genre of the book Little Women.

My favorite character, personally, was Jo March. The reason why is because she kind of reflected my personality a little bit. She reminds me of myself when it comes to her attitude and how she sees herself. My second favorite character is probably Professor Bhae. The reason why is because even though he seems a little scary, he is actually kind and loving towards Jo. Those are my favorite characters from Little Women and why.

The book Little Women by Louise May Alcott was a very good book. I would rate this book at a 5/5 because it had immensely good detailed descriptions and it had a very good story line. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance stories and growing up stories. That was my opinion on the book Little Women by Louise May Alcott.
