The book, “Shiloh, was about a kid named Marty who found a dog and saved him. But his parents didn't want a dog. So they gave Shiloh to someone named Judd Travers. He was a hunter. “Shiloh kept running away. Without anybody knowing Marty kept Shiloh in their shed, because he needed and wanted “Shiloh. He brought him food every meal and kept it a secret.

The main characters are Marty Preston and Shiloh, the dog. The genre of the book was realistic fiction because it's about things that happen in real life. Like in the book there was a dog that Marty thought the dog was getting abused. The dog kept running away to Marty's house but his parents told him to take him home. There was a funny part when Marty went to his friend's house. And he was talking about Shiloh and David said he got a new pet. Marty was so excited and thought it would be a new dog then David's dog and Shiloh could play but when they got upstairs David told Marty to open his hands and hold them out he gave him a tank it was a crab. Marty didn't think that the crab could play with “Shiloh.

My favorite character is probably Shiloh. He has a lot of action and he listens really well and I like when he runs away from everybody else but Marty.

Marty lived in West Virginia. The time and place was at his house or outside and the time was usually in the morning. The plot of the story was that Marty found a dog named Shiloh. He wanted to keep him but his parents wouldn't let him. They gave him to a hunter and then Shiloh ran away back to Marty. He kept him in a shed and kept it a secret.

Phyllis Reynolds Naylor was inspired to write the book Shiloh by a real-life dog she met while out walking with her husband in the West Virginian countryside. She wrote the book Shiloh in 1991. She lives in Gaitherburg Maryland.

I would recommend this book to my brother Baron. I think he would like this book because he likes to read action adventure books like this one. I gave this book a 4 because I liked the book but it doesn't interest me as much as some other books do.
