Have you ever wanted to go to a magic school and learn magic? Well in this book there is lots of magic to be learned. The genre of this book is fantasy. The main character is Harry Potter, a boy who doesn’t have a family that loves him. There are a lot of settings in this book but the main setting is at Hogwarts school. I would give this book a 4½ stars.
The genre of this book is fantasy. This book is definitely fiction. I know that because there is magic, flying brooms, and chocolate covered frogs (which are real by the way). Also in this book there are magic wands. But my favorite fantasy thing is the game that they play at the Hogwarts school of magic. The game that they play is called Quidditch, which is where a ball get thrown around and the two teams have to score the ball into each other's goals.
My favorite character in the book is Ron Weasly. Ron is my favorite character because he is really funny and makes jokes on people. Ron also has a pet rat named Scrabbers. While Harry was trying to find the train station spot to go to Hogwarts, that's when he met Ron. Harry and Ron sat on the train going to Hogwarts and gave Harry one of the chocolate frogs.
At first in the book the setting is at the Dursleys house at 4 Privet Drive. Then a bit later in the book Harry keeps getting sent all of these letters, so the Dursleys and Harry move to a bunch of different places. Then the last place the Dursleys end up is in a lighthouse where Hagrid comes in and takes Harry to Diagon Alley to get magic supplies. Again the setting changes to the train station where Harry meets Ron and they get on the train together. The last location is at the Hogwarts school where all the magic happens.
I would recommend this book to people who like magic and weird things that talk and are alive. I would recommend this book to the people who like magic because the whole book is about Harry Potter and how he became the “Magical Boy.” Also to the people who like things that talk and are alive that shouldn’t be alive, like a talking hat that tells the kids what dorm you're in. I gave this book 4 1/2 stars because it was interesting in a lot of parts like when the Dusleys moved into a lighthouse or when Harry went through a wall to get to the train station. Also it was a slow book so that's why it lost a half of a point.
